Join us for our Hands-On “Flowerpot Workshop” on Saturday, May 20th

Want to give your planters a bit more pep? Or to make a unique gift for someone special? Join us for this fun afternoon workshop for all ages and learn by doing multiple techniques for decorating terra cotta pots. In addition to a couple pots per person, a variety of materials will be provided. Participants are also welcomed to bring some of their own for a more personalized flair. You will learn how hands-on as you complete decorating a few plant pots in different ways including birch bark!

Fiber Arts Creativity Continues at Manchester Makerspace with our Intro to Weaving Workshop in March

NOTE: This is a two-week class, meeting on Saturday, March 11th and Saturday, March 18th, from 10:00am – noon.

Class fee includes a kit of materials with everything you need to start weaving.

This weaving class will cover the basics of weft faced weaving. Participants will be using small, portable looms suitable for woven jewelry, wall hangings, or small purses. Each participant will receive a kit containing a loom, weaving needle, a small comb for beating the weft and access to a wide palette of tapestry yarns to choose from for their weavings. Techniques taught in this class are transferable to all other styles of weaving.

About the Instructor
Laurel Jamieson has been a spinner, weaver, and knitter for many years. She is a juried member of the League of NH Craftsmen and the NH Council on the Arts. An avid historian, she actively researches textiles from modern day through the Bronze and Iron Age. She has taught at the NH Institute of Art, and has given spinning and dying demonstrations at Strawbery Banke, the Currier Museum of Art, and many living history and farm museums. She also produces handmade tools inspired by her archaeological efforts, available at
